DO NOT USE NORTHEAST GEORGIA MOVING COMPANY OWNED BY JON WILBANKS

I knew that I would be posting a second review due to the fact that we had so much stuff damaged on our initial move by NORTHEAST GEORGIA MOVING. I am a 70+ year old man with high standards and I do expect perfection when I have to pay for it. Perfection was offered to me and the price that I paid I thought that I would get it. Far from it, without a doubt the worst moving crew I have seen in all my years. At the end of year 2021 I hired a different moving company to move the same items to our final home that we just built. I advised them to look at everything before they pulled it from storage and the owner of the company pointed out to me all blemishes and damages before loading it on their truck. Some of the pottery and ceramics we have had for 50 years were broken beyond repair, lots of other things we were able to super glue and some had to be thrown away. Larger things like furniture was scratched, gouged or broken. I could not put our king size bed together right away because someone broke all four slat supports off, and I guess threw them away, rather than taking time to unscrew the bolts. I had to measure and cut new support legs. Hardly not a piece of furniture was left unscathed from these so-called professional movers. Just about every picture frame that we have, was scratched and had to be filled in with stain or wood filler and re-stained. There are a couple of things that are still missing. I am a woodworker and I’ve built a lot of the furniture that we have and some of my woodworking tools were taken apart and I cannot find the bolts to put them back together. Missing pieces to some of my lawn equipment. I could probably go on with a lot more stuff but the bottom line is stay away from Northeast Georgia moving company.

And by the way Jon Wilbanks, the company that moved us from storage and the apartment was half the price that you charged and was by far much more considerate of our belongings.

DO NOT HIRE NORTHEAST GEORGIA MOVING!

Easy Move.

I have moved a lot and Northeast Georgia has been by far the best moving company to work with. The movers were on time, quick, friendly, and professional. The customer service kept in touch and were also pleasant to deal with. They were very affordable. I hope I don't have to move for a while but would recommend this company to anyone in the Gainesville area.

Could Not Have Hoped For More!

North east Georgia moving is the very best! Jon & gentry personally came to our home, quickly sized up the load to be moved, then gave a very fair estimate, they stood behind their "Estimate" 100%, (which we've heard is not often the case), no "Gotchas" after the fact. They are straight shooters & performed as promised. Mike & dusty showed up on time, immediately went about properly securing all items to be moved. Their teamwork showed great efficiency. They knew what they were doing and truly did the work of 4 men in half the time. Everything was received at the new address in perfect condition,, not a chip or break in anything! We have always moved ourselves in the past, but now in our 70's & with much trepidation,, it was time to "Trust" others to do the job. We are both amazed, relieved, and exceedingly grateful for the professionalism and expertise mike & dusty showed. They not only did an incredibly good job but they are two very personable guys who, with rarely found enthusiasm these days, went above and beyond to be certain that all of our concerns and needs were properly addressed. Highly recommend north east Georgia moving,, and sincere kudos to mike, dusty, Jon and gentry!

The most stressful and horrible experience of our lives

December 18, 2020 7:03 pm

1/ 5

We both are in our 70’s and have moved many times in our lives together and have always used a moving company. This review probably Will be the first of two, waiting to see what our furniture looks like after removing it from storage. During the estimate appointment, we explained that there would be items moved to two separate locations, one being an apartment in Gainesville and the other being a storage facility in Clermont. We explained that many items had already been packed and Labeled and that we also had items separated by color coated labels and placed in separate locations. The first day we explained all this to the team leader and let him know that we would be there if he had any questions as to the destination of any items. The team leader seemed to be overwhelmed and unable to keep the others moving. Over all, they appeared to be unmotivated and untrained as to how to wrap and protect lamps, artwork and to handle heavy furniture. We witnessed one worker lay a large picture on a coffee table and then drag it across and causing a large scratch from the wire hangers. Lamps With bulbs and pictures were loaded onto the truck unwrapped with picture frames touching. They only had one set of hand trucks and it had a flat tire, so they borrowed mine. One worker left premises to go to Lowe’s to buy another hand truck. At one point they hooked a trailer to their car and drove around to the basement in order to move heavy tools. They got the car and trailer stuck and left ruts in the yard and could not get the trailer out. I was asked for the use of my truck to remove the trailer. I agreed to tow the trailer with my truck to the storage unit in order to save time. At least half of a truck load had to be loaded and taken to storage after our closing, with the attorneys, with the new owners of the house sitting and waiting. After the movers had left we went to the storage units to check on our stuff. One of the indoor units would not open due to something on the inside jamming the roll up door. The manager of the storage units had to remove metal panels to gain access and pry the door open. Without moving anything, we noticed several furniture pieces damaged, small damage but damaged. We rented 3 climate control units and 1 large non climate for items such as lawn mower and equipment. There is some of the lawn equipment and shop tools mixed in with furniture in the climate control and some things that should be in climate control is in non climate control. Two weeks prior to them showing up at our house, we separated and assorted and label everything in our house, yellow labels were to Go to storage and all red labels were supposed to go to the apartment. We do not have items at the apartment that we need to sustain a normal life. We had to go out and buy things like an iron, shower curtains, knives, can opener, we have No plates, no dinnerware, We have been forced to go out and eat or eat can food because we have nothing to cook in. We have 10 medium size boxes full of things we don’t need at the apartment , taking up valuable space In the apartment. We called Jon (owner) of moving company And he would not answer his call or return a call. I sent him a message asking him to meet us at the storage units to look over how everything was stacked and stored, but his response was uncaring and with no apologies for the poor service we received for our money. You were more concerned that we were complaining that we paid more than we should have and that your estimate was close. We are not asking to be reimbursed for anything but we definitely feel that we over paid for the services we received. And we did try to guide them but they would not follow directions and did not move items to the right location that were clearly labeled. We would have gladly paid the $800.00 that you claimed we saved if we had gotten a quality job. As a business man you have not learned a valuable lesson and that is “ the customer is always right”. You said that we would need to file a complaint for our damages, but we do not know the extent of our damages at this point, and We would be foolish to hire them to move us again, so with that we have to except what we have. And too Jon, you blame us for items being placed at wrong locations because we were there directIng or supervising your employees, it is not our responsibility to supervise but we felt that they needed someone to stand behind them on every piece they moved. Truly the worst moving company that we have dealt with and would not recommend you to anyone and we are more than happy to to let everyone know what kind of experience we had with Northeast Georgia Moving
